Well I am now heading into my 16th week! I can't believe that we have made it this far! I was still pretty paranoid, even though I just heard the heartbeat 2 weeks ago. So I decided to rent a baby heart monitor. It is kind of like the same one the doctors use. Since I can't really feel much yet, this little device will allow me relax a little bit. I figure that I will use it every other day. I had it delivered to Nat's house yesterday, and of course had to speed over there right after work so that I could use it. I was so excited. I got that tube of sono jelly and was ready to hear our baby's heartbeat. It of course took a little bit to find, but once I did it was booming. I can't even describe the instant relief that that sound brings. It was great! I called Neal and he got to hear it over the phone. Kate was sitting there with me, and would just reach for the monitor and hold it to my stomach for a little bit. She was getting a kick out of it! The whole idea of something with a heartbeat in my stomach is still such a crazy concept for me. It definitely is getting more and more real by the day.
