Nursery time!

Packing up the room

So most people that know me well, know that I am a procrastinator. I have always been and sadly always will be that way. I seem to work better under a time crunch. So it is no surprise that with a month left I have nothing ready. So Natalie took me to Lone Star Baby, which is where I ended up getting our crib. Finally! Now, all we have to do is clear out our guest room, and closet. I said that I would start this during Spring Break. Well we are a few days into Spring break and I have cleared out the closet!! Now if we can just get the furniture out of there. I feel like we have at least started things. I washed all of her clothes, and that took two days to do! It is sad what the dryer does to new clothes. Everything really fades right away. I refuse to dry from now on. It is pretty exciting to start washing the clothes and hanging it up. That means a baby is really close to using them. Crazy! Today Neal and I will try to do just a little more. I had such high hopes for this week, and have only done half of what I wanted to do. Hopefully she doesn't surprise us with an early arrival! We would be in so much trouble!

Our 8th anniversary...

Well we have now been married 8 years!! This was our last anniversary without a baby! Things will be so different from here on. I am really happy that we got to have so much time to ourselves before starting a family. I have really enjoyed just hanging out and basically doing whatever we have wanted to do. We have had a lot of quality time together! We are so ready to start our little family now. We really can't wait! It has been a fun eight years with some speed bumps along the way, but we have loved every minute of it. I can't wait to see what this next year brings! We decided to just keep it low key for our anniversary night, and just went to Anamia's. Sadly I wasn't the least bit hungry. I couldn't even eat my dessert! That is pretty serious. We thought it would be nice to name the baby on our anniversary, but we couldn't do it. We are being so weird about the name! Well we tried...

30 week appointment

So we have entered the 30's! It is pretty crazy. Women have their babies in their 30's alot of times so it just kind of made me realize I could have mine soon! We had a doctor's appointment that day and we had our very last ultrasound. It will be the last time we see our little girl in my belly. She looked great! The doctor said that the baby weighed around 3.5 lbs., and that the baby would most likely weigh 8.5 lbs! What??? I thought that I would have a small baby for some reason. She also said that the baby had big feet! Could our baby possibly be tall later? We got to see her practice breathing. We could see her chest going up and down. It is so amazing what they learn to do inside of the belly. Everything else looked great! I have officially gained 24 pounds and have 10 weeks to go! Yikes! I am slowly making my way up the scale! Must be those fries and root beer floats that I have been snacking on!

Baby Olivia

Christy and Olivia sporting one of the burp cloths that Natalie's Mom makes! So cute!

Baby Olivia probably not liking the flash in her face during her nap.

So the bib is a little big right now, but whe will grow into it! Look at how tiny she is!

I could get used to this! That is seriously going to be my baby's hair color!

We had just seen Christy like two weeks in all her belly glory, and we finally got to meet little Olivia. Christy had her on the 9th, but we didn't have a chance to go see her until yesterday. I was off from school so it was the perfect day to go! I met Paige there bright and early with some yummy Krispy Kremes. I ate 1 and half donuts by the way. I could not believe my eyes when Christy opened the door. Baby Olivia had black hair! She so could have passed for my baby! Christy is so light, and Jeff doesn't seem very dark either, so it was just wild! Olivia is so tiny. I haven't held a newborn since probably Kate or Blake so it has been a really long time. You tend to forget how tiny they are. I wasn't as scared of the size as I used to be. My shoulder didn't cramp up or anything when I was holding her. Usually I tense up because I am nervous. She is really cute, and I can't wait to see if she keeps her same hair color! Christy looks great, and seems energetic! I don't know how she pulls that one off. She looked all fresh. It was great to see them, and got a few tips in the process. Holding that little baby made me so excited for the day I get to hold my own! It seems so far fetched, but it is really right around the corner. Another little fun highlight was that Blake just came up and pointed to me and said Mimi! No one prompted her or anything. It was so out of blue. That is what Kate has called me for a while. It just seems to stick better! It was really sweet to hear that. So cute! She was really good too. She just let us chat, and kind of did her own thing. It was a really good start to my day off! Congratulations Christy and Jeff!

Scott's b-day party

Jess, Neal, and me(29weeks)

So Neal decided to throw his best friend Scott a surprise birthday dinner. He loved where Jessica's was last time so we ended up back at Cremona's in Dallas. We had a good time! Nat made a cameo, but had to leave with her spaghetti in a box because Kate was ready to snooze. We kind of got off to a later start than we had thought. The dinner sadly took forever, but it was good nonetheless. They gave the table wine and chianti on the house because of it. I was looking at all of the wine that was left. What a waste of good wine. That was all that was running through my head. The boys had a good time. It was quiet a few of their old high school friends so that is always fun. Luckily Jess went with us so we were able to get in some fun girl time too! I just love birthdays!

Always a first for everything...

It was such a pretty day the other day that I decided to walk Murphy and Macy. I switch off because they are both such pains to walk at the same time. I was enjoying my walk with Macy when I suddenly heard a little rustling of leaves beside me. It was squirrel! Macy was trying to get it and pulling me towards the squirrel. Now squirrels are supposed to be afraid of dogs. The little rodent starting chasing us and lunging towards Macy! I started to jog at first to try and get away from it, and it kept coming for us. I thought for sure that either I was going to see a squirrel massacre, Macy get bit, or me get bit by a rapid squirrel. I started sprinting with Macy across the street. I seriously have not moved that much since July! The squirrel luckily did not want to cross the street. We called it a day at that point. We went home huffing and puffing from the little run. So weird!

Finally my 3D!

Long fingers! She might have been sucking her thumb.

There is my pointy chin!

Neal and I at the ultrasound place
Betty, me, and Neal-Glad you were able to be there Betty!

Me and Nat-Thank you for being there Nat!

My original 3D appointment was last Tuesday, but ice was coming, and I wasn't about to drive to south Arlington in that. I sadly had to cancel. I was pretty bummed about it. I had to wait a whole week!! So finally Tuesday came again. I couldn't believe that I was finally having it done. I was going to see our little baby girl. At least I was hoping it was a girl! You never know. I just can't believe that we finally reached this point that we could have one of these. It seems so out of reach during early pregnancy! I am now in my third trimester! Yikes. I am very disappointed with myself though. I haven't taken enough belly pictures. The weeks just keep flying by. It is crazy! So Nat and Kate picked me up from school because Neal had an earlier appointment over there. The highways were riduculous. Rush hour starts at 3:30 apparently on 360. So of course we were late to the appointment. We walked in to find Neal with the video camera recording our entrance. Such a goober. Betty also met us there. I had to drink something sugary before, which I did, and keep my bladder full. That is always fun! So we all go into this room with a big screen on the wall to watch everything. It was great! To no surprise at all, the baby was in a bad position. Every single ultrasound I have had has been difficult with this little one. She was like deep in my pelvis with her face facing some weird way. So the nurse pushed on my tummy a ton. That didn't feel so pleasant. We were able to verify that it was a girl!! Phew. What would I have done with all that clothes? After a bunch of poking, she finally got into position. Then we see that she has the umbilical cord right in front of her face. The cord stayed there throughout the whole thing! We were able to see that she had the Melissa pointy chin though! That was really funny. The nurse wasn't able to get too many great shots. She said that it wasn't her worst though. It was just really neat to see our baby. I feel her kicking so much, and you just wonder what is going on in there. I also know why I am always running to the bathroom. Apparently she is sitting on my bladder. All in all, everything looked great, and it just was an awesome thing to see. It makes it that much more real to see an actual baby with a nose, and ears. She actually stuck her tongue out at one point! So fun! It just made me want to take her out already!
